The Best Investment is the Community Fund
When you invest in the United Way Community Fund, you maximize the only return on your charitable dollar that matters — results.
The United Way Community Fund is the backbone of a strategy for change in our region that is preparing children to achieve in school and life and building self sufficiency for adults and families. Our expertise; network of relationships in the private, public, and nonprofit sectors; and incorporation of both innovation and the lessons of experience into our approach make the United Way Community Fund the most effective means of making a difference in the community.
Gifts to the Community Impact Fund enable United Way to
- Identify the best performing health and human service agencies and provide financial support for their work
- Improve the quality of social service programs through training and expert assistance
- Mobilize volunteers
- Convene the community to respond productively to the challenges facing our region
- Advocate for sensible and humane public policies that arm children, adults, families and neighborhoods with the tools they need to succeed
- Multiply the impact of individual donations by leveraging them to attract corporate and foundation dollars
Why Invest in our United Way?
Through our knowledge of community issues, community solutions, and key public policy issues, we assist donors in making effective philanthropic decisions. We partner with community organizations, other funders – government and business – to improve social conditions in our region. We provide resources to address community conditions through volunteers, financial, and in-kind support.
We provide access to a national network building on lessons learned and adding valuable tools and resources to our region. We are a vehicle that ensures your philanthropic dollars are focused in a strategic and effective manner.
Our Investment in the Community
United Way of Pioneer Valley, through its donors, contributes millions of dollars to organizations in Hampden County, South Hadley, and Granby every year. Over half of those dollars are distributed to programs that support children & youth initiatives. The United Way of Pioneer Valley assists nonprofit organizations through our Day of Caring event by providing over 1,000 volunteers annually. United Way of Pioneer Valley supports MASS2-1-1, a free information and referral hotline providing access to services such as emergency assistance, after-school care, job training, etc. It is confidential, free and available 7-days per week, 24-hours per day. We partner with other United Ways across the state so that together we can make Massachusetts a better place to live. We invite you to be part of the change. Together, united, we can inspire hope and create opportunities for a better tomorrow. That’s what it means to LIVE UNITED.
