Making the most of the early-learning years is essential to positive outcomes for children. UWPV supports community efforts that focus on school readiness and the ability of children to enter Kindergarten ready to learn. We are committed to working on solutions that strengthen the ability of youth to meet key benchmarks in their academic careers, graduate from high school, and successfully transition into work or higher education.
2012- 2013 Education Areas For Grantmaking
- Increase low and moderate-income children’s participation in quality early education and care
- Increase participation in quality out-of-school time (OST), summer learning, mentoring and academic support programs for low-income children
- Strengthen the quality of existing educational support programs such as early education and care, mentoring, out-of-school time, summer learning, tutoring and parental engagement or expand number of quality programs
- Strengthen parental/caregiver engagement in the meaningful support of their children’s and youth’s academic success
