PRESCRIPTION DRUG SAVINGS PROGRAM

FamilyWize cards are prescription drug discount cards that on average reduce the cost of medicine by an average of 30% or more on $20 per prescription. They are straightforward to use; people can just give them to the pharmacists with the prescriptions from their doctor. FamilyWize cards are free - they are provided at no charge to individuals and families using them. In Massachusetts, FamilyWize is helpful for people whose medications are not covered by their plan including people who have deductibles and waiting periods, have limits for prescription coverage, whose co-pay is higher than the discounted FamilyWize price, whose medications are not covered by their health plan. Seniors without a Medicare Part D Prescription plan or those without “Medi-Gap” coverage can also benefit. The UWPV works to distribute FamilyWize cards to community agencies and local partners to provide to residents needing prescription assistance.
