Support the 2010 Census Road Tour
The Portrait of America Road Tour will bring the 2010 Census to the
Pioneer
Valley in February.
As a member of the Pioneer Valley Region Complete Count Committee, we urge your attendance at this great event and to help raise public awareness about the importance of completing and mailing back the 10-question census form when it arrives in mailboxes March 15-17.
Upcoming tour locations are
Holyoke Mall at Ingleside from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27; and Eastfield Mall from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28.
The Road Tour is part of the largest civic outreach and awareness campaign in
U.S. history -- stopping and exhibiting at more than 800 events nationwide. Traveling for a total of 1,547 days and more than 150,000 miles across the country, 13 road tour vehicles, wrapped in colorful census graphics, are equipped with promotional videos, portable exhibits, and literature to remind people that the census is in full swing.
Attendees at the
Springfield and
Holyoke road tours will be able to record their voice, pictures and videos at interactive kiosks, learn about the 2010 Census impact on local communities, see a sample 2010 Census questionnaire, and speak with
2010 Census Road Tour staff and Pioneer Valley Region Complete Count Committee partners.
Everyone is invited to experience this free, interactive and educational event. Those who can’t attend can watch the experience live online at 2010census.gov.
Individuals can view stories from the “Portrait of America” project on the 2010 Census YouTube and Flickr channels, track the Road Tour throughout the country on the website’s interactive map, and follow the tour on Twitter@10Decennial and Facebook.
