Community Impact Grants
Economic Self-Sufficiency Grant Opportunity
United Way of Pioneer Valley is committed to supporting
and sustaining strong communities in Hampden County, South Hadley and Granby, Massachusetts
through its Community Impact initiatives. Community Impact has three primary
focus areas – Education, Income and Health. Consistent with the Community
Impact approach, UWPV funds programs that effectively identify community need
and that are designed to achieve measureable impact.
The Income: Economic Self-Sufficiency Grants will support community programs
and services focused on increasing the ability of working individuals and
families close the gap between what they earn and economic self-sufficiency in
Hampden County (Massachusetts Economic Self Sufficiency Index). The Income: Economic Self-Sufficiency Grants
are based on UWPV’s Economic Self-Sufficiency Conceptual Framework. The
framework outlines UWPV’s understanding of and approach to improving residents’
economic status by supporting them along a continuum from crisis to stability
to self-sufficiency. Income: Economic Self-Sufficiency
Grants will be awarded as multiple-year grants covering the time period of April
1, 2014 to June 30, 2017.
