Annual Stuff the Bus Delivery Day

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

UNITED WAY OF PIONEER VALLEY

TEAMS UP WITH PETER PAN BUS LINES

FOR ANNUAL STUFF THE BUS DELIVERY DAY

Event Benefits Students Who Are Homeless in Region

PIONEER VALLEY, Mass., On Friday, August 23rd, the United Way of Pioneer Valley and Peter Pan Bus Lines will deliver more than 2,200 backpacks filled with donated school supplies to school districts in our region for students who are homeless to prepare them for the upcoming school year. Districts receiving backpacks on 8/23 are: Springfield, Chicopee, Holyoke, South Hadley, West Springfield, and Westfield.

School supplies were collected all summer at various locations throughout the Pioneer Valley. Volunteers from Macy’s Holyoke, Westover Job Corps, and others will be riding on the Peter Pan Bus with United Way stuff to assist with delivery of all 2,200 backpacks the same day.

We are extremely grateful to once again work with our region to make this event possible, “ United Way of Pioneer Valley’s CEO Paul Mina said, “The amount of support and care that our community has shown us for this event is truly amazing. Despite all financial odds, there is no better feeling than to be able to fill all the backpacks requested each year for the students in need. Our main goal here with Stuff the Bus is to ensure that every child in the Pioneer Valley has the chance to start their school year off on the right foot, no matter their circumstances, and the community’s help makes that possible.”

United Way wishes to thank Peter Pan Bus Lines, Mayor Domenic Sarno, Western Mass News, Six Flags New England, Holyoke Mall, Grodsky, Macy’s Holyoke, Amica, Comcast, QFS, Merriam-Webster, Balise Auto, BusinessWest, and Westover Job Corps for their generous support of Stuff the Bus 2019.
