Step Up For Families, Step Up For Puerto Rico
50% of all Feed a Family funds raised will be sent to Puerto Rico for disaster relief.
Now through Giving Tuesday, November 2nd!
The United Way of Pioneer Valley stands in solidarity with all the families that were affected by Hurricane Fiona.
To this end, United Way of Pioneer Valley will donate 50% of all funds raised through Feed a Family to Puerto Rico for disaster relief, while the remaining 50% will support food for those needing it in western Massachusetts.
Lack of water, no power, isolation, ruined bridges, landslides, damaged roads, catastrophic ruined crops, little access to food. These are just some of the challenges people in Puerto Rico are facing after Hurricane Fiona tore through the island. UWPV encourages all who are able to donate to our Feed A Family program so we can offer support to those in need in Puerto Rico.
Feed-a-Family gives our community the opportunity to help the United Way of Pioneer Valley feed hungry families and individuals through our two United Way owned and operated Food Pantries and our partnership with the Boys & Girls Club in Holyoke. Your generous gift of $50 or more will help us feed a family of four a full holiday meal including turkey and all the fixings.
Feed a Family is our largest fund raising effort in support of our feeding the hungry initiative. Only by your generous support can we raise the funds needed to ensure that our neighbors and friends in Pioneer Valley have enough to eat during the holidays and throughout the year. Won’t you help us in this most important work? Children can’t learn if they are hungry, nor can they grow and develop as they should, so look at your gift as an investment in your community's future. We invite you to stop in to our food pantries anytime to observe or to volunteer so you can see firsthand the return on your community investment.
