Community Resources and Needs

Four volunteers holding gardening tools at a Day of Caring volunteer event.

Members of our community are coming forward with resources to help those affected by COVID-19, and requests for donations to help continue their vital work. If you would like for something to be listed here, contact Jenn Kinsman at jkinsman@uwpv.org or 413.693.0212.

Resources

Food pantries

Some area food pantries have closed due to the outbreak and volunteer shortage. The Food Bank of Western Massachusetts has organized a list of food pantries that remain open during this evolving situation.

Prescription drug savings through Familywize

Now more than ever, it's important for members of our community to continue taking their prescribed medications. FamilyWize, a partner of United Way Worldwide, offers a free prescription drug savings card. When getting a prescription filled or refilled, you can ask your pharmacist to apply the FamilyWize discount and present them with a printed card or by using the FamilyWize app.

Needs

Baystate Health needs protective equipment

This flyer lists the types of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) that Baystate Health is trying to acquire from all available sources. Gloves, gowns, surgical masks, face shields, goggles, and N95 masks. Note, at this time, we are not able to accept hand sewn masks. Baystate Health will determine whether the supplies donated can be utilized by our clinicians.

To assist with Baystate’s ability to purchase please call 413.794.2025 or email PPEpurchasing@baystatehealth.org.
