In partnership with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, United Way of Pioneer Valley is responding to these direct threats to SNAP, the state’s largest anti-hunger program that serves approximately 139,604 residents across Hampden County and over a million throughout the state.

Unstable federal funding and shifting policies are threatening the reduction or elimination of food assistance, specifically SNAP benefits. Beginning November 1, SNAP benefits will be delayed until the federal government reopens, leaving approximately 30% of families across Hampden county uncertain about how they’ll put food on the table.

Your gift to the United Response Fund will directly impact those in our region who rely on food assistance programs to put food on their tables – the majority of whom are children, seniors, and people with disabilities.

We distribute food through our two direct service pantries and network of local partners, meaning your generosity reaches farther – feeding families directly and strengthening the agencies that serve even more of our neighbors in need. Together, we're providing nourishment, dignity and hope to those who need it most. Because community starts with you, and community starts here.
