(9/14/2026) — United Way of Pioneer Valley (UWPV) today announced a series of staff promotions and new hires made over the past several weeks, reflecting the organization's continued growth and investment in the people who carry out its work across the region.
Lee Drewitz has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer. In this role, Lee will oversee day-to-day operations across the organization, working closely with program and administrative teams to keep UWPV's work running smoothly as it grows.
Katie Wajda has been promoted to Nonprofit Resource Center Manager. Katie has worked with United Way of Pioneer Valley in a number of capacities over the years working closely with direct service and administration. In her new role, she will be guiding the Center's work connecting local nonprofits with capacity building resources for project-based support.
Victoria Accorsi has been promoted to Financial Empowerment Programs Manager. Victoria will lead UWPV's financial literacy programming, helping community members build financial stability and confidence.
Denise Ward has joined UWPV as Volunteer Programs Manager. Denise brings nearly a decade at Girls Inc. of the Valley, where she served as Associate Executive Director, along with experience in program development, grant writing, and community partnership building at Elms College and Holyoke Community College. She holds a Master of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership from Springfield College.
Monique Turner has joined UWPV as Executive Administrative Assistant. Monique brings more than 15 years of fundraising and community engagement experience, most recently as Senior Development Manager at the American Cancer Society, where she managed a six-figure portfolio of events across Western Massachusetts.
Jessica Colson, MBA, has joined UWPV as Resource Development Manager. Jessica spent more than five years at Girls Inc. of the Valley, most recently as Director of Development and Communications, and previously served in alumni relations roles at Elms College.
“Each of these moves reflects someone who has already shown up for this organization and this community, and who we're excited to invest in further,” said Megan Moynihan, President and CEO of United Way of Pioneer Valley. “Whether they're new to our team or stepping into a bigger role, they bring the kind of integrity and care that makes our work possible.”
These changes have taken effect over the past several weeks.
