Public Policy

Public policy and advocacy are critical strategies for reaching our community impact goal to advance the common good through Basic Needs, Youth Development, and Financial Wellness. Advocacy provides an excellent platform for engaging community leaders, volunteers, donors, and board members.

Leveraging our influence as a network with an aligned voice makes our potential to influence public policy for systems-change unlimited. United Way of Pioneer Valley leads federal and state advocacy efforts on behalf of the United Way movement to promote key issues before the General Court, Congress, and the White House.

Additionally, we advise on state and local policy matters- particularly when an issue directly impacts the United Way. Guided by the public policy agenda, the committee works in partnership with staff and elected officials to advance key policy issues and supports them as they grow their advocacy efforts.
