Summit Award | Baystate Health

 

The Summit Award recognizes enduring, consistent support as well as robust community involvement as a partner to human services work. United Way of Pioneer Valley has seen first-hand the high degree of volunteerism and community partnership from Baystate employees. Further, Baystate has been a brave champion on the front lines of a multitude of public health challenges and most recently the historic pandemic.

The Summit Award recognizes enduring, consistent support for UWPV as well as robust community involvement as a partner in regional human services work. Local Legacy Award | American Saw/Stanley Black & Decker - The Davis Family

 

Founded simultaneously with the emergence of the community chest in Springfield, American Saw, now Stanley Black & Decker, has been a reliable, generous partner through the last century. Their passion for workforce development and helping neighbors in need is unquestionable.

Lifetime Achievement Award | R. Lyman Wood

 

This award identifies people who have devoted their entire adult lives to the betterment of our region. Mr. Wood has been a wide sweeping patron of Greater Springfield with significant impact on our quality of life.

Women's Leadership Council Naming | Dora D. Robinson

 

The founding members of the Women’s Leadership Council wish to honor the work and vision of Dora Robinson, who served as President & CEO of United Way of Pioneer Valley from 2007 to 2017. This group has fundraised and advocated for women and girls in our region.

Alexis de Tocqueville Volunteer Award | John Baker

 

This award is the highest distinction for a volunteer in the global United Way system. Mr. Baker is a long time volunteer, who retired from his corporate job and went directly into social services and continues to volunteer for us.

Michael Serafino Hero Award | The Serafino Family

 

The Michael Serafino Hero Award is hereby established from this point forward to recognize a former or current board member of United Way of Pioneer Valley for exemplary embodiment of our vision and values. Michael was a generous donor starting in 2005 and later served as Board Chair and on our Planned Giving Committee. Many of our board members and staff over the years have cited his passion for giving as a best practice example. We have lost a pillar of our community, a beloved husband, father and local business leader. May his legacy live on through this award.
